What is the All-Region process?

The All-Region Band audition is an extraordinary opportunity for junior high musicians to showcase their talent on a much larger stage. Students face high-level competition among top band members from Richardson, Highland Park, Dallas, Duncanville, and surrounding districts. To prepare, instrumentalists must master two etudes, seven major scales, and a chromatic scale, while percussionists prepare three etudes (one mallet, one snare, and one timpani). Musicians who earn a seat in this prestigious ensemble get to collaborate with outstanding guest clinicians and talented peers from across the area, bringing an incredible concert to life after just a few hours of rehearsal. Earning a spot as an All-Region Band Member is widely recognized across the region as the highest achievement a middle school band student can attain, celebrating exceptional dedication, musicianship, and hard work.

AUDITION

• Saturday, November 14th

• The audition will take place at Kennemer MS

  • This will be a blind audition, meaning the judges will be behind a screen. Students will be given a number for the audition and will not be referred to by their name for anonymity. 

  • Students will remain in their assigned audition room until every student in the room has completed the audition.

  • Students will be bused to this audition.

  • The audition will take place in 2 phases: (more information coming soon about these phases)
    Phase 1 - 9:00 am start time
    Phase 2 - approximate1:00 pm start time

RESULTS

Once all students complete their auditions, results will be posted outside the cafeteria. I am already so proud of the hard work and dedication our students have shown leading up to today. Regardless of the outcome, every student has already shown so much musical growth throughout this process.
